A brief update....and lots of photos!

Hello!  Carly is nearly 8 months old (wow!!) and I thought I'd post some recent photos.

What's Carly been up to?

I'm getting my first tooth!  But I will NOT let mama get a picture :o)

I just started getting up on my hands and knees this week!  Watch out, here I come!!

I have TWO new cousins!!

Adelina was born on March 30!  Here I am on Easter with her and her big brother, Mason!

And Austin was born on April 27!  Here he is with my Auntie, Krista, and his big brother, Mason!  I bet you didn't know that I had two cousins named Mason :o)
I guess I'm not the baby in the family anymore!

I got dedicated at church.

And I had a fun Easter!

Mama got a little carried away with the pictures :o)

Here we are on Mother's Day!

Next month we're going boating, so I thought I should try on my bathing suit...

I guess that's pretty much it.  Until next time!

  3. I couldn't find an email for you, so I thought I'd respond here to your question about milk protein sensitivities.

Ava was realllly young when she started having symptoms - I'm talking like six outfit changes a day from the blowouts at 3 months old. I felt horrible it took me that long to figure it out!!

That being said, it sounds much more to me like she may be lactose intolerant. Ava can't have cheese, yogurt, baked goods, etc. - even sometimes things with whey protein, depending on the concentration. It's intense. If she's tolerating cheese and yogurt, it may be because the lactose is broken down and much more easily digestable in those forms. Also, how does she do on ice cream? One of my nutrition teachers once told me that one way to figure out a milk allergy vs. lactose intolerance is to have someone eat frozen yogurt. If they react, it's a milk allergy/protein sensitivity. If not, it's lactose intolerance, because the proteins in yogurt break down the lactose so that it's tolerable. Does that make sense?

Anyhow, try that out first, or even see at what age you can give them lactaid or a similar helping agent, and see if that changes the experience. What type of symptoms does she have? Mainly gastrointestinal?
