Normally, on our anniversary (well, the past 2 years anyway!), we go to Shinn Park where we were married and have a picnic. Nothing fancy, just us. Well, this year we skipped the picnic...which was a little disappointing, but hey, life happens...instead, we planned a 3 day mini-trip (notice that most of our "vacations" won't exceed 3 days....Jon is a homebody) to Monterey! It was really fun to relax and pretty much to nothing. Luckily my new job (of 1 year already..) encourages taking time off...so we spent a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at the Portola Hotel and Spa. Is was wonderful, expect for the non-stop seagulls...even requiring me to wear earplugs to sleep!
Jon was a great sport and only said he was ready to go home about a handful of times, progress for sure!
