Sick...but 10 weeks!

So...this is the second time I've written this post...blogger decided to delete it and I was too mad (and lazy) to start over, until today.

I'm sick.  I've been home sick since Thursday.  Fever, sore throat, headache, body aches, cough...and a few more unpleasant symptoms.  I feel like such a lazy bum but this has really knocked me down.  We've had dinner reservations for our annual post-Valentine's Day dinner for over a month...and I had to cancel on everyone.  I'm really bummed.  And just as my appetite is returning!

Did I mention my appetite?  For the past month I've been subsiding on mostly fruit.  Apples, strawberries, grapes, watermelon, peaches, pears, and tangerines....LOTS of tangerines...oh, and frozen yogurt, topped with lots of fruit, of course.  Fruit has been the only thing that hasn't made me nauseous.  For pretty much a month straight I've had horrible nausea.  I apparently skipped right over the morning sickness (thank goodness!) but had the worst nausea in the evenings and all throughout the night.  Well, as of this week it's pretty much gone!  And back came my appetite...hopefully my stomach has shrunk a little.  I have actually lost 5 1/2 lbs since my first doctor appointment 1 month ago.  I'm happy with that :o)

Speaking of doctor appointments, our second is this Tuesday!  I'll be nearly 11 weeks by then.  I can't wait because we were told to expect to hear the heartbeat!  I've been tempted to rent a home-doppler....but I've restrained myself.  I know something is definitely going on in there....my lower abdomen is very hard!  It actually kind of freaked me out the first time I felt it.

So what's our little one up to?  (S)he is now the size of a...prune?  Yuck.  I'm going to go with apricot..because that's what my book says...

 With bones and cartilage starting to form and vital organs beginning to function, baby is making major progress. Body length will almost double in the next three weeks, and arm joints are now working. (Soon, legs will too.)

I found this really cool little ultrasound video of a 10 week old baby jumping around like crazy!  But I can't include the link for some reason....sorry!  But, oh my gosh!  It's crazy to know that my little one is doing the same thing and I can't feel it!  Weird.  And I can't believe I'm already 1/4 of the way done with my pregnancy!

So....we don't know what we're having yet, obviously....but believe me, we'll be finding out as soon as possible!  I really think it's a boy.  I don't know why, but I really do and I have all along.  We've got two solid names for a boy, and I love them both.  Every single person, besides my grandma, thinks it's a girl.  If it's a girl I have no clue what we're going to do!  Name suggestions, anyone?
